The Apostille Convention entered into force for Algeria on July 9, 2026. That may simplify authentication for qualifying Georgia public documents—but it does not mean every original, photocopy, or translation is ready for an apostille.

Before submitting anything, confirm:

• the exact Algerian office receiving the document;
• whether it wants an original or certified copy;
• whether a translation is required;
• whether the document was issued in Georgia or by a federal agency;
• whether the names and dates match the related application.
Georgia public records such as birth and marriage certificates generally need to be official certified copies. Federal documents follow a different path.
