I am excited to announce that Morgan Casey has joined the Law Office of Kerry G. Tilley as our first Associate Attorney.

Morgan received her J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in 2018. While attending Liberty Law, she was a member of the Student Bar Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Liberty Lawyer. Prior to law school, she earned her B.S. in History at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.

After graduating law school, Morgan began her legal career at the 47th District Attorney’s Office in Amarillo, Texas, as an Assistant District Attorney. As an ADA, Morgan handled felony cases and gained valuable trial experience. Following the DA’s office, Morgan was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas where she prosecuted federal crimes. Morgan decided to transition to private practice and join the team at the Law Office of Kerry Tilley. As an Associate Attorney, Morgan will offer legal services for Family Law, Estate Planning, and Probate.

In her free time, Morgan enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and their four dogs – Lucy, C**t, Murphy, and Shostakovich.

Thanksgiving is rooted in the tradition and history of gratitude and community celebration, and traces back to 1621 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, when Pilgrims and Native Americans joined together to share a feast after a successful harvest. This gathering was a symbol of unity and thankfulness for provision and cooperation in challenging times.

Thanksgiving as a formal holiday in the United States was established in 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father." This acknowledgment of divine providence mirrors the biblical emphasis on pausing to thank God for His blessings.

The idea of giving thanks transcends these historical moments. The Bible is filled with calls to gratitude and celebrations of God's provision, and we are often encouraged to maintain an attitude of gratitude:

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."* (Psalm 100:4)

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Today, Thanksgiving continues as a day for reflection, gratitude, and sharing with others, echoing the timeless biblical principle of giving thanks for God’s goodness and blessings.
