I am heartbroken.

Our comrade Paul was locked in his house, nailed inside, and the house was set on fire. He is now in critical condition in hospital.

Who does this to a fellow human being? What has our politics become?

This is attempted murder. I call upon Police to investigate this heinous crime immediately.

Let us all stand with Paul. He needs our prayers and our support to survive. We shall share a support line shortly.

Get well soon, our soldier. We are with you.

482 DAYS. NO TRIAL.

As a lawyer and as your Woman MP for Kampala, I cannot stay silent.

Eddie Mutwe has reportedly spent 480 days in detention without trial. For no crime whatsoever, except daring to dream that Uganda deserves better.

Our Constitution guarantees every Ugandan the right to a fair and speedy trial. This continued detention is unconstitutional, unjust and inhumane.

I join other leaders and families in demanding that the State respects the law - charge him, try him in a competent court, or release him.

Uganda deserves better. Uganda deserves justice for all.
