CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HONOURABLE CHIEF JUSTICE RONNIE BOODOOSINGH, O.R.T.T. 🇹🇹
Nanans Attorneys-at-Law extends sincere congratulations to the Honourable Mr. Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh, Chief Justice of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on being awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (O.R.T.T.), our nation’s highest national honour.
His journey through the legal profession is one that deserves recognition.
From his time at the Hugh Wooding Law School, where he was responsible for Trial Advocacy and Remedies, to becoming the author of legal texts that continue to be used and relied upon by members of the profession today; from his appointment as a High Court Judge, where his judgments contributed to the development of the law in Trinidad and Tobago, to his elevation to the Court of Appeal, and ultimately his appointment as Chief Justice — his career represents decades of service to legal education, the development of the law and the administration of justice.
As Chief Justice, he has embraced the importance of a Judiciary that is accessible, responsive and connected to the people it serves.
His efforts to strengthen access to justice, including increasing the number of judges, facilitating more in-person hearings for those who may not have reliable access to technology, visiting court districts and engaging more directly with communities, demonstrate an understanding that justice must not only be delivered — it must be accessible to all.
His willingness to communicate with the public through modern platforms, including the Judiciary’s active social media presence, is another example of a changing Judiciary seeking to bring the work of the courts closer to the people.
For those of us in the legal profession, it is particularly meaningful to reflect upon the journey from legal educator and author, to High Court Judge, Court of Appeal Judge and now Chief Justice.
Nanans Attorneys-at-Law congratulates the Honourable Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh on this significant national honour and recognises his longstanding contribution to legal education, the development of the law and the administration of justice in Trinidad and Tobago.
We wish him continued strength and success in his service to the Judiciary and to our nation.
