"F**a and businesses

Companies, business associations, foreign firms with dealings in Singapore, and even clan associations and ethnic business networks here, have to keep F**a in mind as part of their operational risk management.

Globally, state and non-state actors - including businesses - make varying use of overt lobbying to influence and advance their interests in other states. There is nothing inherently wrong with this. However, where such efforts are covert and seek to undermine Singapore's political economy and the public interest (defined in F**a), F**a has them within its crosshairs."

The Foreign Interference (Countermeasures) Bill (F**a) was passed in Parliament on Monday after about 10 hours of impassioned debate. Despite the government agreeing to several amendments proposed by the Workers' Party, the substance was not changed in any significant way. Although the government p...

Good Day All,

Good news for parents!

With the passing of the Bill for the Child Development Co-Savings Act (CDCA), parents can now have greater peace of mind, knowing that their ankle-biters and themselves, are better taken care of.

With the view that "certain benefits are aimed at encouraging parenthood within marriage," it looks like it's time to coax your significant other to tag along for that ring shopping excursion you've been meaning to take.

Have a pleasant long weekend ahead!

The topic: Resolution
The perspective: Mediation

Often, people relate the resolution of legal conflicts, to the general path involving a member of a judicial body - the involvement of a judge or arbitrator. However, with the ideal scenario of maintaining a healthy relationship (professional or otherwise), one's best hope is to engage in a mediation as a means of alternative dispute resolution. With amicability at the heart of the desired outcome, it is wise to pursue the most flexible means of settlement.

Our lawyers have experience in resolving conflicts by means of mediation, so feel free to enquire [via http://nmlawcorp.com.sg/contact-us/] to see how we may help extricate your dissensions.

Good Day All,

We thought we’d kick this series off, of reporting on the current news, with a gentle reminder that we should give credit where credit is due.

We live in extraordinary times, with a pandemic transforming our lives drastically, and the likelihood of travel abroad being a pipedream in the current climate; our only means of sharing our experiences of the world, seem to be through the distribution of knowledge through social media. However, come November 2021 we may have to be more vigilant about crediting the sources of our inspiration, as much as we are invested in inspiring others.

With this sentiment in mind, we shall credit our source, and wish you a pleasant weekend ahead!
