This April 9th, as we observe Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), we commemorate the 84th anniversary of the Bataan Death Marchโa historic journey endured by our Filipino soldiers, including the brave veterans of San Fernando.
The then-town of San Fernando played a pivotal role in this historic event, as the actual march culminated at the San Fernando Train Station in Barangay Sto. Niรฑo. Today, this site houses the Death March Marker and the Wall of Valor, where annual wreath-laying ceremonies are held to honor our war heroes.
Under the leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, Vice Mayor Aurelio Brenz Gonzales, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and the City Tourism Office, the City Government remains committed to remembering their heroism and continuously recognizing their invaluable contributions to our society.
