The Civil Service Exam is tough for general applicants. But the Bar Exam is far more demanding academically, mentally and emotionally.
CS: test general knowledge (covers english, math, and govt function)
Bar: test law graduates on legal knowledge, reasoning, writing and ethics. (Covers political law, civil law, criminal law, remedial law, commercial law, labor law etc.)
CS - more about aptitude and basic competency.
Bar- more about mastery and professional qualification
CS- 1-3months review.
Bar: 6months review to a year.
CS- multiple choice
Bar- essays and situational problems (you must analyze, apply, and argue legal principles) need gyud na perpek ang grammar.
Passing rate
CS: 10-15%
Bar: 20-30% but with higher study demands
