The UP College of Law in partnership with the Office of the Dean and the Institute of International Legal Studies presents: "Legal Developments in the Situation of the Republic of the Philippines: A UP Law Faculty Colloquium on the International Criminal Court (ICC)" on March 14 2025, from 1:30PM-4PM at the Malcolm Theatre in Malcolm Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

The panelists for the colloquium will be Atty. Ruby Rosselle L. Tugade, Asst. Prof. Michael T. Tiu, Jr., Asst. Prof. Theodore O. Te, and Prof. Emeritus Raul C. Pangalangan, retired Judge of the International Criminal Court. Moderating the forum is Assoc. Prof. Rommel J. Casis, Director of the Institute of International Legal Studies.

UP LAW Bags Championship at 2024 Stetson Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition

The University of the Philippines College of Law has secured another victory after winning the championship title at the 28th Stetson Annual International Environmental Moot Court Competition held in Gulfport, Florida, USA from April 10-13, 2024. The Stetson win marks the second time this year that UP LAW clinched the world championship at a renowned international moot court competition, a remarkable feat that shines the spotlight on UP LAW as the leading institution in moot court competitions worldwide.

UP Law’s Stetson win is also significant as this is the second time that it has bagged the championship in the same competition, the first time being in 2018.

This year’s competition saw the UP Law Stetson Team besting 19 other law schools from different regions, culminating in a face-off with Singapore Management University on the issue of protection of a critically endangered Mountain Gorilla species threatened by oil extraction activities.

The winning UP Law Stetson Team is composed of Noel Francis Galinato, Miriam Celine Miciano, and Alia Dominique Yao, with Prof. Marianne Vitug as coach and Prof. Rommel Casis as faculty advisor.
Miriam Celine Miciano also clinched the Overall Best Oralist award for the preliminary rounds of the competition while Alia Dominque Yao was awarded 3rd Best Oralist for the preliminary rounds and Best Oralist for the championship round.

The UP community rejoices and celebrates UP Law’s Stetson victory which seals the tradition of honor and excellence at the University.

UP COLLEGE OF LAW SECURES HISTORIC WIN AS WORLD CHAMPIONS OF 2024 PHILIP C. JESSUP MOOT COURT COMPETITION

The University of the Philippines College of Law has etched its name in history once again, clinching the prestigious title of World Champions at the 2024 Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington, DC. This remarkable victory comes nearly three decades after their last triumph in the same competition, reaffirming UP Law's unparalleled excellence on the global stage.

The UP Law Jessup Team, composed of Mary Regine Dadole, Pauline De Leon, Pauline Samantha Sagayo, Chinzen Viernes, and Ignacio Lorenzo Villareal, demonstrated unwavering dedication and brilliance under the guidance of Professor Marianne Vitug as coach and Professor Rommel Casis as faculty advisor.

The entire UP community joins in celebrating this historic triumph, which not only underscores UP Law's legacy of excellence but also inspires future generations of legal scholars and practitioners worldwide.
