The H-1B lottery has changed, and the first real-world results are starting to show what that means.

The biggest takeaway: the process is no longer purely random in the way many employers and applicants have known it. Under the new wage-weighted system, higher-wage roles had stronger selection outcomes, while entry-level roles faced a tougher path.

That matters for companies planning to hire or sponsor international talent, and for workers trying to understand how the system may affect their options.

Boundless explains what changed, what the early data shows, and why planning ahead is becoming more important. ⤵️

The new Boundless 2026 H-1B Work Visa Trends Report analyzes what the latest H-1B lottery changes mean for employers.

Applying for a K-1 fiancé visa in 2026?

The K-1 visa allows a U.S. citizen to bring a foreign fiancé to the U.S. to get married within 90 days of arrival. After marriage, the foreign spouse can apply for a green card. Most K-1 visas take about 8 to 11 months, and government fees are about $940, with additional costs often bringing the total higher.

Boundless CEO and co-founder Xiao Wang joined American Community Media for an important conversation on the broader impact of efforts to restrict birthright citizenship.

The discussion looked beyond the legal debate to what these policies could mean for families, the U.S. workforce, healthcare shortages, and the country’s economic future.

This conversation carried an important message: immigration policy does not just affect paperwork. It affects people, communities, and the future of the country.

I-9 paperwork mistakes can now carry bigger consequences for employers.

A recent ICE update means more Form I-9 errors are now treated as “substantive,” which can lead directly to fines during an audit.

For employers, HR teams, and anyone involved in hiring, this is a good reminder to review I-9 processes before there is an inspection. A few things we encourage you to check now:

Are forms complete?
Are dates and document details accurate?
Are electronic I-9 systems set up correctly?
Is there a clear plan if ICE requests records?

The best time to catch and correct I-9 issues is before an audit begins.

We explain what changed and what employers should review now in our latest guide: https://bit.ly/49jw2Am

A lot happened in immigration last week, and several of these updates could affect families, employers, and people planning their next steps. Here are 5 you should know about:

1. The May Visa Bulletin is out
Family-based categories kept moving, especially F-1, F-2B, and F-4. F-2A remains current, while most employment-based categories stayed about the same.

2. ICE is making I-9 mistakes more costly
More form errors may now lead to fines right away instead of giving employers time to fix them first. That can add up quickly.

3. Legal immigration may slow even more this year
New restrictions, tougher vetting, and other policy changes are already showing up in the numbers, including fewer student visas and fewer family-based green cards.

4. The citizenship test is now harder
USCIS expanded the civics test to 128 possible questions. Applicants may be asked up to 20 and now need 12 correct answers to pass.

5. TPS holders contribute $29 billion to the U.S. economy
A new report found TPS holders contribute billions each year, including nearly $8 billion in taxes.

What happens when it becomes harder for immigrant doctors and healthcare workers to come to the U.S.?

In this interview with American Community Media, Boundless CEO and co-founder Xiao Wang explains why immigration policy can have a direct impact on healthcare access, especially in rural communities.

The U.S. is already facing a serious doctor shortage. Immigrant physicians play a major role in helping fill that gap, including in small towns, rural hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care settings.

When immigration becomes more expensive or uncertain, the first communities to feel the strain may be the ones already struggling to recruit enough providers.

Thank you to American Community Media for highlighting this important issue.
