It was my first work experienced. I had been informed verbally that I'd gotten the job and should resume work the coming week.
I was over the moon with excitement, I didn't ask the necessary questions.
I hadn't signed any employment/engagement contract, no one told me the expected renumeration or the existence of a probation period. I assumed everything and was disappointed 3 months later, when I eventually signed my engagement letter and collected what I considered a meagre renumeration.
Don't be like me.
Insist on a written contract at the start that clearly define your role and responsibilities, renumeration, amongst others.
