Wrapping up the week with a final post in support of (Action for Brain Injury).

Shining a light on the issues faced by those living with brain injury. Raising our voices, in the hope to encourage others to advocate for much-needed change.

Brain injury often brings challenges that aren’t immediately visible. ABI Week plays an important role in helping people understand the physical, mental and emotional impact a brain injury can have.

We're here to help those suffering and their families. The process of making a claim can be complex and distressing, both for those affected and their loved ones. At these times, it’s essential to have the right support, understanding and advice.

Today we share a story, a traumatic accident involving a young person whose mother turned to us for support with a legal claim. The claim resulted in a settlement enabling much-needed rehabilitation, support and financial stability for her going forward. 💜

Leading law firm FBC Manby Bowdler has unveiled a significant expansion of its Knowle office as it continues to enjoy a period of strong growth.

The firm has welcomed a number of new appointments to Knowle and created new contentious probate and residential property law teams at the site.

The move comes as FBC Manby Bowdler continues to expand after becoming the founding member of the Adeptio Law Group, which was launched following a £30m private equity investment by Horizon Capital in 2024.

The new contentious probate team is led by partner Anna Sutcliffe who brings more than 20 years’ experience and is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Solicitors (ACTAPS).

Anna has particular expertise in challenging disputed wills and regularly advises on claims for financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, as well as disputes involving executors and trustees.

Also joining the contentious probate team is solicitor Hollie Mills, who specialises in disputed estates and handles a wide range of matters including will validity challenges, inheritance claims, intestacy disputes and challenges concerning executors.

The new residential team is strengthened with the appointment of senior associate Elisa Everitt.

Elisa advises clients on all aspects of residential conveyancing work, including lease extensions, sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages and new builds.

Two further appointments have further strengthened the team at Knowle.

Perveen Dhami joins as a partner in the property litigation team, bringing significant expertise in areas such as commercial landlord and tenant disputes, lease renewals and terminations, dilapidations, forfeiture and possession actions, and service charge and rent arrears disputes.

Meanwhile senior associate Victoria Upton – an expert in wills, probate, estate planning and trusts, has moved to Knowle from the firm’s Redditch office to expand its private client service.

FBC Manby Bowdler chief executive Neil Lloyd said the strength of the team at Knowle underlined the firm’s ambition.

“We have assembled a first-class team of the best legal minds at Knowle to ensure that the community has access to trusted, legal expertise.

“Our continued growth – both here in Knowle and across Birmingham, the Black Country, Shropshire and Worcestershire – is closely tied to our role within Adeptio. As a founding member, we’re helping to shape a national group that brings together the very best of regional practice with the scale, innovation and resilience of a modern legal network.”

The firm’s growth has seen it open new offices in Birmingham and Wolverhampton as well as the Knowle office and enjoy record turnover of more than £19milllion in the last year.

One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime. Either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

The condition remains one of the most significant health concerns in the UK today

But Michelle Monnes-Thomas, partner and head of community care here at FBC Manby Bowdler, explains why it’s never too early to plan ahead, and how being proactive rather than reactive can make all the difference.

It's OK to say, "This is not OK".

It's also OK to let us do the talking for you. Our Personal Injury Department & Serious Injuries Team take pride in working on behalf of their clients.

Today, we're helping to raise awareness for Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week. Speaking up for those who have suffered and those who are still suffering in the hope we can advocate for change.

There are often invisible challenges of brain injury, ABI Week helps educate people about the physical, cognitive, and emotional effects of brain injury.

Claims can be complicated, it can be traumatic for those involved and for their families. This is when you'll need support, sensitivity and guidance.

We're big believers in supporting better services for people affected by brain injury to improve care, rehabilitation, and recognition of brain injury in various aspects of life.

Today we're sharing some stories demonstrating just how we put words into action, fighting for those who can't necessarily fight for themselves anymore.

We don't care if we look like a bunch of cartoon characters ready to take Disney by storm! 🙃
We are proud to wear our silly hats today.

Why, we hear you cry... because we're supporting a very worthy cause!

As part of Action for Brain Injury week ( next week) the firm is fundraising for Headway Shropshire - the brain injury association. Staff were tasked with bringing their wackiest hats into work to raise awareness, and as the picture shows, they did not disappoint!

A dress-down day across the firm has raised vital funds for Headway, who promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide information, support and services to survivors, their families and carers.

Brain injuries have far reaching consequences not just for the person injured but for their friends and family. Headway provide vital services to brain injured people and their families; providing rehabilitation, continuing care, guidance and practical advice on how to live with a brain injury.

We are very proud to support their work.
