So, WHY Market Weighton?

It’s one of those towns that quietly ticks every box. Sat right between York and Hull, wrapped in the Yorkshire Wolds, and close enough to the coast and motorway that everywhere feels within easy reach. It’s also seriously good value. Homes here typically come in well below York prices, so your money stretches further without giving up the connections, which is exactly why more and more people are choosing to move here.

What really makes it special though is the community. Wonderful independent shops and cafes, and events like Giant Bradley Day that bring the whole town together.

Speaking of which, here’s one for the pub quiz: Giant Bradley was William Bradley, born here in Market Weighton in 1787, and at 7ft 9in he’s still the tallest Englishman ever recorded. You’ll find a life-sized wooden statue of him carved from oak right in the centre of town, and the annual Giant Bradley Day is named in his honour.
