In one of the more extraordinary cases to come out of South Wales courts this week a man from Rhigos has been jailed after stealing a bulldozer from his father's farm and driving it into a pub while it was open, causing £22,000 of damage.
Daniel Morgan had been drinking at The New Inn when he became angry about comments made about the breakdown of his marriage. He texted the pub owner beforehand saying "it will be a drive thru" — a threat that, sadly, turned out to be very real.
Morgan's father showed incredible bravery in following his son, warning people to evacuate the pub and ultimately using a digger to stop the bulldozer.
Morgan was jailed for three years and four months and banned from driving for over three years.
