Today marks an important change to Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT). 🏠

HMRC is introducing new mandatory requirements for solicitors and conveyancers who submit SDLT returns on behalf of clients.

Under the new rules, solicitors and conveyancers handling property transactions will need to register as ‘tax advisers’. They will also be required to carry out more detailed checks into a client’s tax position before SDLT returns can be submitted to HMRC on their behalf.

For anyone buying property, these updates could have an impact on the conveyancing process and the information required during a transaction.

Read our latest blog below to find out what the changes mean for property buyers. ⬇️

From Monday 18 May, HMRC is introducing new mandatory requirements for solicitors and conveyancers who submit Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns on behalf of clients.

➡️More patient choice and a stronger voice in decisions around their treatment

➡️Ending the use of police cells as places of detention.

Our latest blog breaks down all the reforms, including which changes have already been introduced.
