A huge welcome to our new colleagues from Freeths at our new Oxford and Nottingham offices today as we continue to grow.

They are joining our ever-expanding Court of Protection, Property and Affairs team.

EMG co-founders Emma Gaudern and Jemma Morland, Jon Burns and Ian Burke from our People & Culture team, and Kris Rogerson and Simon Hicks from Workplaces & IT training were on hand to give them a warm welcome.

The tasty buffet we put on certainly went down well, along with the tins and tote bags filled with goodies to help them settle in and feel at home.

Last week, our Gosforth office was delighted to welcome St Oswald's Hospice and the Peter Rabbit sculpture. We’re thrilled to be supporting their art trail once again this year.

We were also joined by the talented artist Bethan Laker, who has designed and painted our Peter Rabbit sculpture. Bethan shared some of the recent artwork she’s been working on with the team, giving us a wonderful insight into her creative process, and we can’t wait to reveal our sculpture when the trail officially launches on 15th July.

The weather didn't quite get the memo but that certainly didn't stop us enjoying a fantastic afternoon at the EMG Solicitors’ Summer BBQ at Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club.

Despite the showers, there was plenty of delicious food, great music, and the opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and make new connections.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Mandy Cheung, Associate Solicitor in our Court of Protection Health & Welfare team, has qualified as an Accredited Legal Representative (ALR) under the Law Society Mental Capacity (Welfare) Scheme.

This accreditation means Mandy can now represent and advocate for individuals who may not be able to do so for themselves.

We now have eight colleagues at EMG Solicitors who can be appointed as an ALR.

Mandy said, "I am really proud to now be an Accredited Legal Representative. Representing the individual and ensuring their wishes and feelings are at the heart of court proceedings is such a privilege. I look forward to drawing on the skills and experience I have developed throughout my career as a Court of Protection Solicitor in this role. I am also grateful to EMG for supporting me in achieving this accreditation, which is something I have aspired to for a long time".

Congratulations, Mandy, on this fantastic achievement.
