Learning at Work Week is a good time to shine a light on the people in our team who are actively building their careers. Mackenzie Lawton, based in our Crewe office, is one of those people.
Mackenzie is a paralegal on the Personal Injury team, and having passed SQE1 and SQE2, he is now working through the two years of practical experience needed to qualify as a solicitor, and he's already over six months in.
His day usually starts around 8:40am (by his own admission, he has not yet managed to beat his supervisor Anna - Head of Personal Injury - to the office ⏰).
On any given day, Mackenzie might be speaking with new enquiries or existing clients, drafting letters of claim or schedules, completing CNFs, reviewing medical literature, researching case law, or responding to insurers.
Alongside his legal work, Mackenzie also plays an active part in the firm's website and marketing. He writes blog posts and success stories, contributes ideas on improving the firm's online presence, and helps shape how Step Legal generates new leads.
It's a very full plate, and he juggles everything very well. That's what learning at work actually looks like 😊
