Starting a new relationship before your divorce is finalised? Here’s what you need to know.

In most cases, once you’ve separated from your spouse, you’re free to start a new relationship before your divorce has been finalised, and the courts are generally not concerned with who you choose to date. However, a new relationship can sometimes have practical implications, particularly if you begin living together and your housing needs or future financial circumstances become relevant to financial discussions.

A little look back at our 2026 Strategy Day!

We recently headed to the Hunter Lodges at The Celtic Manor Resort for some time away from the office to reflect on the year so far, celebrate everything we’ve achieved and look ahead to what’s next for Lux.

A day filled with plenty of ideas, insightful conversation and exciting plans for the rest of 2026 and into 2027! We rounded things off with a fantastic team dinner at The Priory Caerleon , the perfect way to end a brilliant day spent together as a team.

We asked Olivia what parents should avoid saying around their children and why keeping conversations about the other parent respectful can make such a difference.

What happens to joint debts after separation?

Separating from your partner doesn't change the agreement you have with a lender. If a debt is held in joint names, both parties remain responsible, regardless of any arrangements agreed between yourselves.

We asked Courtenay to explain why joint debts shouldn't be overlooked and the importance of addressing them as part of the wider separation process.
