Cook Corporate Solicitors have acted for Thundercat Industries Limited on its share purchase of Thermal Detection Limited.

Thermal Detection is an established leader in the manufacture of high-quality temperature sensors serving a wide range of industries, particularly the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare sectors.

Given Thermal Detection’s reputation for reliability and recognised expertise we were delighted to assist Thundercat Industries with this acquisition, working alongside Jacksons LLP, who acted for the seller.

Cook Corporate strengthen corporate team with new hire.

Cook Corporate have broadened their team with the addition of Charlotte Inman, recent graduate from the University of Birmingham, as a paralegal in the corporate team.

Charlotte will assist the team on a range of corporate and commercial matters. In particular due diligence, research, data room management and compliance. Her support will enhance the firm’s capacity to grow its corporate and commercial practice.

Cook Corporate act in Sale of Specific Heat

Cook Corporate Solicitors acted for the selling shareholder in the sale of the entire issued share capital of Specific Heat (London) Limited.

The long established company provides a wide range of HVAC and industrial refrigeration energy management consultation, design, planning and support services throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland with the goal to better manage, control and measure energy consumption.

The company has been acquired by Iolas Capital.

Work experience

Amelia Greenwood, a Year 12 student from Clifton High School who is looking to study law at university, joined us for a week of work experience this summer.

She completed many law-related tasks, such as writing a few articles for our website, researching possible alternative suppliers, and editing wills, which gave her valuable, in-person experience of the work that happens in a corporate law firm.

Amelia said, “I loved experiencing what a law firm is like, and being set interesting researching and writing tasks that relate to the work here has really given me an interest in corporate law. Everyone here is so friendly and happy to help, making it a really nice working environment – I would definitely recommend this experience”.

Cook Corporate Solicitors acted for Brooks Hotels Limited on the sale of the freehold and business and assets of Brooks Guesthouse Bristol to Bristol Harbour Hotel Limited. Brooks Guesthouse, located at Exchange Avenue, Bristol is a well established boutique hospitality business known for its distinctive accommodation offering in the heart of Bristol.

Cook Corporate Solicitors acted for California-based entrepreneur Carlos Huerta in the purchase of Alexander Taylor Bakeries.

Alexander Taylor Bakeries, based in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire has been run by the same family for over 200 years.

Cook Corporate represented the management team in their successful buy out of Advance Auto Recovery Limited.

The business has operated for over 40 years and provides a roadside vehicle rescue service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. It operates a large fleet of recovery vehicles and also offers workshop services and storage.
