Independent solicitors don't have to work in isolation.
One of the things I've come to appreciate about running an independent law firm is the importance of having a good professional network around you.
I specialise in personal injury and clinical negligence. I don't pretend to be an expert in every area of law.
I do, however, regularly receive enquiries about employment law β unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, settlement agreements and other workplace disputes.
Rather than simply saying "that's not something I deal with", I'm pleased to be able to point people towards a solicitor I've known for over 15 years, who specialises in employment law and whom I'm comfortable recommending.
There are no referral fees, commissions or financial incentives involved. It's simply about knowing good people who specialise in areas that I don't β and making sure an enquiry reaches the right solicitor.
I think there's a lot to be said for independent solicitors building trusted networks like this.
So I'm opening mine up a little more.
If you're an independent solicitor specialising in an area outside personal injury and clinical negligence and would like a free, informal referral chat, please feel free to get in touch.
Equally, if you receive PI or clinical negligence enquiries that aren't for you, I'm always happy to have a conversation.
Good lawyers don't need to do everything. They need to know good lawyers who do.
