Time to clear some shelf space for a good cause! The Friends of the Guelph Public Library are now accepting donations for their 18th Annual Big Annual Book Sale.

From September 1 to October 9, bring your gently used books, sheet music, DVDs, games, puzzles, and vinyl to the Main Library, East Side Branch, or Westminster Square Branch.

The Book Sale will be held from October 22 - 25 at the Bamco Group's warehouse at 440 Elmira Road North. We hope to see you there!

Heads up, Guelph. Starting Sept 28, there will be a full closure of Speedvale Avenue East at the Speed River Bridge. There will be no eastbound or westbound through traffic permitted through the construction zone for about four to six weeks, weather permitting.

Join us on Wednesday, September 9 for Piping Nights at McCrae Memorial Gardens at 6:30 p.m. On this final night of the season, the Guelph Pipe Band offers a full performance in uniform. They will play a variety of tunes that they perform at competitions. and the pipe major will share information about the music and the band. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

We’re excited to share that as part of a proud partnership with the Town of Newmarket beginning September 18, 2026, select artworks from the AGO’s collections of Indigenous and Canadian Art can be seen at historic Mulock House.

These curated exhibitions are part of the AGO’s commitment to reaching audiences outside its walls and to making the museum’s collection even more accessible.

Mulock House was built in 1871 and is located within Mulock Park, a 16-acre green space in Newmarket, just north of the GTA. Designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, the Town of Newmarket has preserved, updated, and reimagined the home and its park, transforming it into a community hub with a café, restored lounge in Sir William Mulock’s library, gathering spaces, and a 2,000-sq.-foot art gallery.

Admission to Mulock House is free for the public. We can’t wait to see you there!
