Duncan Craig LLP is pleased to welcome Articling Student Julianne Valle to the firm.

Julianne earned her Bachelor of Science with distinction in 2015, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Education After Degree with distinction in 2017 before earning her Juris Doctor in 2026.

During law school, Julianne was actively involved with Student Legal Services, working with both the Civil Law Group and Emergency Protection Order Program. She also served as a Moot Mentor and a Belzberg Writing Fellow.

Duncan Craig LLP is pleased to welcome Articling Student Gurneet Baidwan to the firm.

Gurneet Baidwan earned his Bachelor of Arts with distinction from The King’s University, where he received several academic awards and scholarships, including the Academic Distinction Scholarship, Academic Excellence Scholarship, Christian Labour Association of Canada Scholarship, and Jason Lang Scholarship.

During law school, Gurneet was involved with the Sports and Entertainment Law Club and Runnymede. He also volunteered with Student Legal Services, an organization that serves low-income individuals, as a Civil and Family Caseworker, and later worked with the Criminal Project as a Summer Student and Day Leader. During his time with the Criminal Project, he drafted multiple Charter notices and conducted negotiations, gaining practical experience in various aspects of criminal proceedings. He also gained hands-on advocacy experience through making applications and conducting a trial before the Alberta Court of Justice.

Pilgrims Hospice Society provides care and support for individuals living with life-limiting illness and their families, including residential hospice care, grief and bereavement support, an Adult Day Program and community-based services.

The Sunflower Luncheon helps raise awareness and support for this important work, ensuring individuals and families can receive compassionate care, comfort and dignity when they need it most.

We are proud to support Pilgrims Hospice Society and the meaningful difference they make in our community.

Last week, our Community Giving Committee volunteers had the opportunity to spend some time supporting Kids Kottage Foundation and the important work they do for children and families in our community.

Kids Kottage provides a 24/7 safe haven for children from birth to 10 years old when, during a family crisis, home is temporarily not a safe option. As the only organization providing temporary overnight care and shelter for children in Edmonton and the surrounding area, Kids Kottage offers children a safe, nurturing and home-like environment while their families work through difficult circumstances.

Their work goes far beyond providing a place to stay. Through crisis intervention, family support and trauma-informed care, Kids Kottage helps give children stability, comfort and care during some of the most uncertain moments in their young lives.

We were proud to lend a hand last week and learn more about the incredible work being done by the staff and volunteers at Kids Kottage.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our volunteer session, and especially to Kids Kottage Foundation for the work you do every day to support children and families in our community.
