The Corporate Challenge runs May 13 to June 7, 2026 - but donations are needed year-round, and anyone can give blood at any time.

This week, one of our team members stepped up to donate -contributing to a campaign that continues to deliver measurable impact across the country.

With thousands of units already collected, each donation plays a direct role in supporting patients who rely on lifesaving treatments.

A single donation can help save multiple lives. It’s a simple action with a meaningful outcome.

Duncan Craig LLP was proud to support the Hike for Pilgrims Hospice, an annual event that brings families, friends, and even pets together for a meaningful 5 km walk through Edmonton’s MacKinnon Ravine.

Now in its 15th year, the hike continues to raise critical funds for Pilgrims Hospice Society - supporting compassionate palliative and end-of-life care, along with essential grief support services provided at no cost to individuals and families in our community.

Despite the cold weather, the turnout was strong. The firm was pleased to provide snacks for participants along the route, helping keep everyone going.

It was a reminder that even on a cold day, a shared purpose brings people together. Everyone’s hearts were kept warm by seeing participants come out to support one another and share in a meaningful moment.

Yesterday, the DCLLP team stepped away from the office to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, in the Wedgewood Room - an annual tradition and one we look forward to each year. The setting and lunch were exceptional, but more importantly, it gave us the time to acknowledge our people.

On behalf of the partners, we extend our sincere thanks to our administrative professionals. Your work is foundational to everything we do - supporting our lawyers, our clients, and each other with consistency, care, and professionalism.

Members of our management committee, including Managing Partner Diane Ferrante, along with partners Jeff Fixsen and Andrea Willey, were there to personally express their appreciation. There is a strong sense of pride in this team - and genuine gratitude for the role you play in the firm’s success.

Yesterday, lawyers and members of our team volunteered at the Hope Mission

The Hope Mission provides critical support to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction - meeting people where they are with meals, care, and a path forward.

We assisted with meal service - supporting an organization that delivers this work every day, at scale, in our community.

It’s a reminder that meaningful impact often comes from consistent, hands-on support - and from organizations like Hope Mission that are doing the hard work on the front lines.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way.

Partner Kayla Thompson recently presented at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law on careers in trusts and estates, in collaboration with STEP Canada.

Kayla is a Partner in our Estates Solutions practice group and a designated Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). Her practice focuses on estate planning and administration, trust structuring, and advising individuals, families, and business owners on transition and succession planning.

STEP Canada, part of the global Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), represents nearly 4,000 professionals across the country and over 22,000 members worldwide. The organization supports education, professional development, and policy engagement to advance the understanding of trusts and estates.

We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of legal professionals and to support practical career pathways in this area of law.
