Section 2 (45) of Bangladesh Labor Act 2006
(45) "Wages" means all remuneration, expressed or implied, paid to a worker for service or work performed, whether in cash or in kind, and includes any other additional remuneration of a similar nature, but does not include the following, namely:-

(a) the cost of providing accommodation, light, water, medical facilities or any other facility or the cost of any service excluded by the Government by general or special order,

(b) any contribution made by the employer to a retirement fund or provident fund,

(c) the value of any travel allowance or any travel concession,

(d) money paid to a worker to meet any special expenses due to the nature of the work;
