Applications lodged before 2 October 2026 will continue to be assessed under the previous rules.

Northern Territory General Skilled Migration nominations are now open!

The Northern Territory Government has received its full nomination allocation for the 2026–27 program year from the Australian Government.

Applications opened on 21 August 2026 for all onshore streams and selected offshore streams. The eligibility criteria have also been updated for the new program year.

The Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program is now open for new Registrations of Interest (ROIs).

Tasmania has now received a total of 2,050 nomination allocations for the 2026–27 program year:

• 1,250 nomination places for subclass 190
• 800 nomination places for subclass 491

Working Holiday Visa Update: Age Limit Increased for Eligible Applicants

Good news for future Working Holiday visa applicants!

Australia has increased the maximum age limit from 30 to 35 years for passport holders from:

*Republic of Cyprus
*Finland
*Germany
*Republic of Korea

Is Your Country's Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) Cap Closed? Applications for the New Program Year Reopen on 2 July 2026

If your country's Work and Holiday (subclass 462) cap is currently Closed, applications for the new program year will reopen on 2 July 2026 (AEST).

Before applying, check your country's current cap status. It will be one of the following:

🟢 Open – Applications are currently being accepted.
🟡 Paused – Applications are temporarily unavailable. The cap may reopen later in the same program year.
🔴 Closed – Your country's annual cap has been reached. Applications will reopen on 2 July 2026 (AEST) for the new program year.

If your country's status is Open, you do not need to wait until 2 July you can apply now, provided you meet the eligibility requirements.

Check your country's current cap status on the Department of Home Affairs website.
