What you focus on, you create.

Failure is always a possibility. Too many people focus on the consequences of failing and as a result, create failure.

When you start a business, you have to be laser focused on success. That's why clear goals and targets matter.

FEAR will come. Every experienced business owner will tell you that truth. But see fear for what it usually is - False Events Appearing Real!

Do you agree or disagree with this perspective?

Wealthy People Have 'At Risk Youth' too!

At risk youth don't just come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Lyndon Jones, Founder of Next Gen Edge, explains that there are many 'at risk youth' who come from higher socioeconomic backgrounds but fall between the cracks and often end up in the youth justice system.

In my full interview for the Moving Beyond Being Good Podcast with Lyndon, due for release in the second week of June, Lyndon explains exactly how he helps these youth and their parents literally find their feet and get back on the path they were born to walk.

In this clip, Lyndon identifies the youth, who despite their backgrounds, are not getting the help they need.

If you are a Business Owner, you will face adversity..

In 2010 my business was on the brink of collapse. The Great Financial Crisis had hit and it hit hard.

I had a choice. Bail and go get a job, or figure out a way to stay and thrive in business as (at the time) a solopreneur.

Oh, and my 5th child was only 7 days away from being born (he came five weeks early!)

Watch this clip for the full story and what I did to stay in business.

If you are facing adversity, tap into my experience and let me guide you through it. Check the comments below for more information.

You don't get to to be the best without being consistent. Consistency builds trust and reliability. Both for yourself, the people you lead and your clients.

When you lack consistency, you are up and down, your results are up and down, and your confidence is up and down.

You know it's true.

Consistency matters.

Yet, you get 'too busy' to be consistent - or at least that is what you tell yourself. You stop exercising. You stop reading. You stop intentionally switching 'on' and showing up for every new interaction with staff, clients and suppliers.

The Best of the Best are consistent. Set yourself a target on just one task you can be consistent with. Recruit an accountability partner.

Start being intentional with your consistency. It works.

Everything is in perpetual motion. Even the earth never stops spinning!

nature is giving us a clear indicator of what matters.

Always move forward. Ask, "What can right now I do to move toward my target?"

Then do it.

What are you doing today to move you toward your target?

"It's the slow season."

I hear this all the time from business owners.

If this is what the owner believes, what do you think the staff believe and what results do you think you'll be achieving?

It also means you aren't challenging yourself to be creative enough to generate new business. Can you really afford a 'quiet season'?

Train yourself to 'see' the movement of money and resources. See how people are spending money. Use this as inspiration to be creative and turn your 'quiet season' into a success season.

What if you saw problems, setbacks and disappointments as opportunities for success?
Think about it. Every success you have ever had has involved solving a problem, overcoming a setback or some form of adversity or disappointment.

After training for two years for the New York Marathon, I tore my right calf six weeks before the race. My physiotherapist told me my race was Done" and I wouldn't be able to participate.

But I still had six weeks. There was a still a chance I could run.

I told the physio, "For me, that answer doesn't work. I have six weeks. Tell me what I have to do to get to the start line, and I'll do it. Then, once the race starts, it's up to me to get to the finish line."

I did exactly what he told me to do, which included seeing him a lot!

My target for the marathon was 4 hrs 10 minutes. I crossed the finish line at 4 hrs, 9 minutes and 59 seconds!

Overcoming the adversity of the calf injury not only made finishing even sweeter than I had imagined (it was my first marathon) but also gave me confidence moving forward that adversity is just an opportunity waiting to be overcome and that knowledge is a gift that keeps on giving!

What is a lesson adversity has taught you?
