Our solution involves mediating between the parties, we will create a voluntary mediating services which brings the parties together to discuss the issue of CHILD maintenance on a without prejudice basis where possible.
In principle, our firm will always act for the mother of a child who is in need of maintenance. This means that the respondent is at liberty to instruct their own legal practitioner. Through negotiations a deed of settlement can be entered into, setting out the conditions and terms of maintenance for the child in question.
In this way, the stigma, bureaucracy and costly nature of the matter is mitigated. The private deed of settlement that will be entered by the parties will remain inactive until a default in payment has occurred. In this way, confidentiality and dignity of the parties involved is ensured.

• Contested maintenance claims- most maintenance claims are contested when either paternity is denied or the quantum is deemed excessive by the respondent or where the respondent believes they can exhaust the person claiming maintenance through endless litigation or constant delays.
Our solution is to attempt mediation by communicating between parties, should this fail, the normal maintenance procedure will be followed. The maintenance claim will be drafted by our legal practitioner to act on behalf of the person claiming maintenance, measures will be taken to reduce the costs.
