We'd like to congratulate our very own Ms. Primrose Chisango for being registered as a legal practitioner, pictured here at the High Court in Harare after a long journey completing her conversion exams. A thunderous milestone and cause for celebration. To a successful road ahead in practice; chin chin counsel!

🎊Happy Fathers’ Day …to all our father clients and clients to be alike, fathers of our team members , our father stakeholders, and all, with love from us at Jessie Majome & Company Legal Practitioners.
On this day we pay special tribute to our principal’s father the Late Kenneth Rambakupetwa Majome who passed away on 1 February 2026. He would generously give his time, sage advice, share his vintage expertise in administration, and was fondly nicknamed ’the chairman’.
One of his gems was ‘the house wife’s rule’ - ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’. Another was ‘one word to a wise man/woman is enough’. Finally, a gem that his equally vintage students of local governance training in the 1970s will echo with a chuckle- ‘If your mind is cockeyed your legs will suffer’. 😅 He is dearly missed. May his soul rest in peace. Happy Fathers’ Day everyone !

We would like to extend our congratulations to Hon. Elizabeth Gwaunza on her appointment as Chief Justice in terms of Section 180(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Pictured here in her former offices as Deputy Chief justice with our Principal Ms. F.J. Majome and Mrs. Sheillah Kanyangarara of the faculty of Law at University of Zimbabwe. We gladly mark and welcome this new chapter for the first woman to serve as Chief Justice of Zimbabwe.

A message from our principal Ms. F.J. Majome on the case of our client Mrs. Margaret Mashava:
"It’s such a joy for me to show my appreciation by getting justice at last for my grade 5 teacher (at Alfred Beit School in Mabelreign in 1982) who was unlawfully and unfairly dismissed following illness by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
I got judgment for her in the Labour Court but which was not heeded. I resorted to contempt of court proceedings in the High Court which ordered payment of full compensation and costs by 26 January 2026 but only part has been paid.
‘Fiat justitia ruat coelum! - Let justice be done though the heavens may fall!"

Good News!!
To our valued current, past and prospective clients…
on the eve of Independence Day the deadline for compulsory re- registering of companies in terms of the Companies and Other Business Entities Act [Chapter 24: 31] was postponed to 20 April 2028.
It might look like a lot of time, but it flies past quickly like a bolt of lightning.
Our advice is that the time to act is now to prevent inconvenience and loss as non registration by the deadline will render companies defunct.
Our Principal had the privilege of leading public consultations of the Bill that that repealed and replaced the Companies Act, when she chaired the Parliamentary Portfolio on Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs in the 8th Parliament. It is now interesting to see it come into effect.

Happy Independence anniversary ! 🇿🇼

RE: NOTICE IN TERMS OF STATUTORY INSTRUMENT 108 OF 2025 (COMPANIES AND OTHER BUSINESS ENTITIES (RE-REGISTRATION) REGULATIONS) IN ZIMBABWE

We hereby advise all our corporate clients of the issuance of Statutory Instrument 108 of 2025 under the Companies and Other Business Entities Act [Chapter 24:31] which mandates all companies and Private Business Corporations (PBCs) registered before April 2024 to re-register by April 20, 2026. This initiative cleanses the register for the new electronic registry system, with non-compliance leading to automatic deregistration.

Regulatory deadline: 20 April 2026

Entities that fail to comply risk automatic deregistration.

What you should do

Complete and submit re-registration documents immediately to allow processing time.
Entities must apply to update their records and migrate to the new registry.

Impact of Non-Compliance:

Deregistered entities may face loss of legal status and
business and liquidity disruptions

Our firm remains committed to supporting our clients through this regulatory process. Please be advised that we are committed to help address queries that arise, including from failing to meet the deadline.
