GIVING INPUT TO PROFESSIONALS TO DEFINE YOUR VISION

Are you a vision carrier for your brand or business?

Have you ever been called “pushy”, “fussy” or “very particular” by some people who you work with?

Have you ever felt that perhaps you should withhold your queries, input or candid feedback because you are not an expert in the field of the support that you have contracted?

You are not alone… but here are some encouragement tips..

👁️You are the vision carrier - this
means that your vision must be interpreted to the world, and sometimes with the help of others who also need to understand it for it to come out as you envision it.

🧑‍🎨You are a creative as a vision carrier - internalize and accept that as part of your persona. It has to come naturally from you to avoid distorted communication of the vision.

👂Listen to the message in the voices of the support you are receiving and respect them - this is to avoid emotional response to advice just because you felt pierced by the tone or suggestion that you may be wrong.

👌Be the best that you are - so that you can execute your vision with finesse by effective utilization of the resources at your disposal.

Help yourself to reduce the weight of a vision by doing your best to offload it as you dreamt it.

WHEN SOMETHING ETHICAL IS IN THE WAY..

Typical of triangulators (who by now, you must have a low opinion of!) is the clandestine motive which they seek to “launder” by machinations that steer them as far away from the dirt as possible.

Eliminating or excluding anything that stands in the way of the success of the misbehavior intended, is the modus operandi of such assignments.

Practitioners of ethical conduct are abhorred by such discoveries and their response to them is telling. Shock and obliteration of the decency previously accredited to the defaulting actor.

As corporate actors, we must avoid, even the potential of behaviour that tends to lower the integrity of the organization, even if the pecuniary prospect seems lucrative. Remember, that a corporate actor is obliged to perform their duty in a fiduciary manner. In this case, actions must be in the best interest of the organization.

SPECIAL THANKS TO THE LAW ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA

I continue to express my profound thanks to the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) for inviting me to share my thoughts on corporate governance and related matters.

At the 13th Annual Conference being held this week, LAZ decided to tailor a discussion session that was focused on employed or in house counsel as they are more popularly known.

I was privileged to be part of the session panelists to discuss the all important topic on corporate politics and the navigation of ethical dilemmas by in house counsel in that regard.

It was an engaging session and the beginning of more discussion on experiences, perspectives and solutions!

I am grateful to my fellow participants for showing up in numbers and to my fellow panelists for the great collaboration and conversation.
