In an appeal hearing last month, a court’s live stream captured this saddening happening on camera in real time, with an attorney caught for likely using AI-fabricated citations.
On May 20, in the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, Justices Valerie Brathwaite Nelson and Hector LaSalle reamed out that lawyer and his opposing counsel for more than 20 minutes, calling the situation “striking, concerning, disappointing, and saddening.”

In the last few years, we’ve heard case after case where attorneys used generative AI and were caught including fake citations, quotes, and other major errors in their filings

A Mercedes-Benz can add 60% to your perceived legal expertise before you’ve even said, “My learned friend.” Clients tend to trust counsel who arrives looking like the legal fees are already working for him/her😅

2. Optics is an unwritten subject at law school.
An advocate may legally use public transport, but according to the Court of Public Perception, a client should never, I repeat never witness it. If circumstances force you onto a Bus,bike,train please disembark with the stealth of a witness under protection😅

A total of thirteen(13)‼️candidates were admitted to the Zambian Bar as Advocates of the High Court of Zambia during a Call Day ceremony held yesterday at the Supreme Court in Lusaka.

Delivering his remarks, Chief Justice Mumba Malila, SC, extended his congratulations to the newly enrolled advocates and underscored the importance of building careers anchored in integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism.

He stressed that the legal profession is fundamentally a public trust, not merely a commercial pursuit, and that lasting success should be measured by commitment to justice and service to the public rather than by status or financial reward.
