PROJECT WILLOWMORE. What a successful outreach funded by NSP and Dancers Love Dogs. 152 animals sterilised in 3 days - 78 cats and 74 dogs!

We are particularly impressed by the absolute dedication from the Vetsol team who conducted the sterilisations, and the tireless work by El-Anne of Willowmore Animals in Need to better the lives of the animals in this impoverished community. El-Anne’s education programs in the community are starting to bear fruit – where there was previously a reluctance to sterilise, people are now voluntarily coming forward to request sterilisation of their pets. A huge step forward.

As such, and in keeping with our dedication to ‘cleaning up’ one area at a time, we have agreed to fund another 600 sterilisations during 2024. These projects will be staggered over June, August, October and December of this year. At the end of 2024 we will conduct an assessment to see, if any, the number of animals still to be sterilised to achieve our ‘80% sterilised’ desired results.

A huge thank you to Uschi from CAT Garden Route who assisted with the cats – as reported, many of the cats are ‘community cats’ and not essentially feral, however they were not ‘pick-upable’ so trapping was required. And to all the volunteers and hosts who assisted with this project. You rock!
