📢 Guest Presentation at WIETA Master Class on ESTA Compliance

On Tuesday, 5 May 2026, senior attorney Nikita Stander had the privilege of participating as a guest presenter in an online master class hosted by the Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trade Association (WIETA). The session focused on key aspects of the Extension of Security of Tenure Act (ESTA), including:
🔹 The legal framework governing the rights and obligations of landowners and occupiers;
🔹 Procedural fairness in eviction matters; and
🔹 Practical steps to prevent disputes and promote compliance.
Nikita shared insights drawn from both legal principles and the Clinic’s practical experience in evictions and tenure security matters, contributing to an interactive and informative discussion with approximately 80 WIETA members.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with WIETA and to engage with stakeholders in the agricultural sector on advancing fair, lawful and sustainable tenure practices.

Our first-semester final‑year PLT students started consulting with clients this week, engaging with real legal challenges, and applying their training in practice. This is where theory meets experience and marks an important step in their professional development and in our commitment to access to justice.
