Earlier this year I got invited to go on an epic adventure and decided to grab the opportunity. As an Attorney in practice for my own accord... it takes time to wind down and that is what I have been doing this entire year. I have a few more client files to sort out which I promise to get to in the next two weeks. SHANTHA NAIR & ASSOCIATES is closing down on the 12 DECEMBER 2022. I take this opportunity to thank all my clients, friends and family for the support over the years and for trusting me to be your attorney of choice.

Take note of the following Covid-19 regulations that have been repealed:

-The use of face masks is no longer mandatory
-Limitations on gatherings has been removed
-Entry requirements for travellers has been dropped, ie, travellers no longer have to produce a vaccination certificate or a negative Covid-19 test.

I must add that we will continue to wear face masks and not allow entry to our office space to persons not wearing face masks.

Court orders man to pay more than R3 000 000 in arrear maintenance 29 years after maintenance order was made.

Supreme Court of Appeal confirms that maintenance orders fall within the definition of "judgement debt" in the Prescription Act. They will therefore prescribe only after 30 years rather than 3 years, even when the party entitled to maintenance neglects to take steps to enforce the maintenance order for years after it is made.

Simon Roy Arcus v Jill Henree Arcus (4/2021) [2022] ZASCA 9
(21 January 2022).

Supreme Court of Appeal has ruled that maintenance orders will only prescribe after 30 years
