The Dalai Lama once said that “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. So today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly LIVE!”.

I seek to remind you that this new year with its 365 opportunities, its hopes, and invitations, is too dear to waste a moment on the yesterdays. Write it on your heart that every day is a new opportunity, another chance to make the best of it. He is rich who owns the day and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

My wish for all our valued clients and fellow legal practitioners is that should you have no teacher or mentor to offer counsel, that you will be that person. Guide, inspire and motivate those who are privileged to cross your path this coming year. Be the change in your own life and set the tone, influencing those you engage. Be the change.

May 2023 bring you the necessary courage to try one more time. May you find a new burning passion for doing what you love, ambition to aim higher and to dream bigger. May you be equipped with resilience to overcome the obstacles and challenges you might face and may humility be your companion to enable you to learn from others.

This is for you, who inspires. The one who has had a heart-breaking past yet gets up every day to conquer her dreams. This is for women who have been through all kinds of GBV (Gender Based Violence) be it physical or emotional, yet smile with stardust in your eyes, this is for all women who deserve better. This is for women who despite their past, continue to show immense courage. The women who made history, the women sitting next to you.

You are here for a reason. It is time to step up for who you are. RISE UP! Show your beauty, speak your truth, shine your light, share your femininity.

Maya Angelou wrote this poem, aiming to make a change in the world.
The World needs a change, however dear phenomenal woman, the change starts with YOU!!!
