Wedding season is upon us!

Before you say I Do, please make sure that:
1. Your partner never paid/received lobola (in full or part thereof) to /from anyone. If she/he has done so, consult a lawyer asap because they need to formally divorce otherwise your marriage is null and void (does not exist).
2. If lobola is paid prior to you signing an antenuptial contract (ANC), you will be married in community of property. Nothing wrong with it but in practice, it usually proves to be a very unsecure marital regime in most cases especially if you have children and loved ones that you care for and you dont have a proper succession plan in place.
