What if a Judge had to write a letter to children that were directly involved in a case you had before the Court?

In the UK, this letter was apparently written by the judge in a divorce case to the children themselves explaining what was happening, and why it was going to happen. It's quite interesting to see how this Judge included that the decision was made by him and not the kids' parents - likely to aid any blame the kids may feel against the parents to changes being made.

Imagine if this process were to be followed in our legal system by our "upper guardians", which also helps our judges take the issue more seriously and be accountable to the kids? Would it improve adjudication of difficult family matters or would it make it more complication?

The idea of accepting that kids have strong emotions just as much as adults do (thus are able to experience resentment, anger and blame) is bold and understandable. We live in an information age where answers come in many different forms. Having it come directly from the decision-makers themselves has the possibility of aiding children in processing changes being made, letting them know that their voice was heard before making the decision, and maintaining existing strong relationships or mending broken ones.

The Court's attitude towards employees who knowingly go to work whilst being aware of their own positive COVID19 status has been marked and should be noted by the public.

If you are dismissed for gross misconduct on account of attending work after having tested positive for COVID19, and you know about it, the Labour Court is unlikely to come to your aid (See Eskort v Mogotsi LC)

If you test positive, and go to work regardless, you are potentially endangering your community in a reckless manner (as was noted by the Labour Court). Be honest about your result with your employer to avoid harsh repercussions.

Staying safe is important not only for you but also for everyone around you. Don't be complacent!

A common problem with families going through separation, divorce, or even contemplating either of these two things is that their trauma is internalized by their children. The parents become recluse. Then, they fail to communicate with one another, not because they are bad parents but because they are afraid. Their self confidence waivers, which is also picked up on by the kids, and this ultimately leads to a dysfunctional family which gets washed through the court system leading to intermediaries, psychological assessments, and various other experts that interfere with what could have been a normal family.

Your own healing is just as important as healing for your children. Never sacrifice this. Those kids need strong leaders in their parents that will help them as they figure out who they are in this world.

All of this is what I mean when I say... *Take care with yourself and your loved ones... * 🙏
