Stop listing your child as “next of kin” and thinking their future is secured.

Putting someone as your next of kin does not mean they will inherit your property.

“Next of kin” only means the person to contact if something happens to you.

It does not give them ownership of anything.

Here’s the reality:

When someone dies, families often go to the bank and say,
“I’m the next of kin.”

But the bank will say:
“Please bring legal documents.”

Without these, no one can access the money:
• Probate (if there is a Will)
• Letters of Administration (if there is no Will)
• Or a proper bank instruction like Payable on Death (POD)

So understand this clearly:
• Next of kin = Person to call
• Heir = Person who inherits

They are not the same.

If you care about your family, don’t leave them struggling or going to court.

Do the right thing:
• Write a Will
• Make proper legal arrangements
• Put your wishes in clear writing

Because in law, what matters is documents, not assumptions and emotions!!
