NORTH WEST EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CONDEMNS LEARNER WHO SWORE AT TEACHER ON VIDEO

The North West Department of Education has condemned a learner caught on video allegedly swearing at a teacher at a provincial school.

Department spokesperson Dr Elias Malindi said discipline is a critical part of the schooling environment and that learners must attend school to learn and respect educators.

Malindi called on parents, guardians, and civil society to work together with schools to promote positive behaviour and restore discipline.

The department warned that misconduct undermines the teaching and learning environment and must be addressed to keep schools safe for both learners and teachers.
