The Gauteng High Court dismissed, with costs, the application of a Johannesburg man who sought to claim ownership of two properties of his late, long-term partner. Lutz Lamphrecht alleged that he was in a 46-year relationship with the late Eva Hedwig Horn. He alleged their relationship started in 1970 and ended in July 2016, when she died.

Chief Justice Raymond Zondo on Monday ordered the release of Janusz Walus on parole within 10 days. Zondo said the decision by Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola to deny Walus' parole was irrational and should, therefore, be reviewed and set aside.
