Job Summary:
As the legal secretary, you will provide essential administrative support to our team of lawyers. You will ensure that our legal services are delivered efficiently, accurately, and professionally. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal typist to take their career to the next level and work with a reputable law firm.

Requirements:
- Matric is essential.
- A post-matric qualification will be beneficial.
- A minimum of ten years experience as a senior legal secretary and High Court and Magistrates Court Litigation.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- In-depth understanding of legal terminology and documentation;
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail;
- Knowledge of the Caselines system is beneficial.
- Dictaphone and copy-typing a wide range of documents.
- Typing, formatting, and collating of notices and pleadings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office ad Lexis Convey.

Responsibilities:
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, including contracts, affidavits, and pleadings;
- Filing of court documents and making applications for court appointments;
- Arranging meetings, scheduling appointments and managing diaries;
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness;
- Liaising with clients, counsel and other legal stakeholders;
- Maintaining and organizing legal files and document databases;

This is a full-time, 8 am to 4 pm office-based position.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Legal Secretary to join our dynamic team.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric is essential.
• A post-matric qualification will be beneficial.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a legal secretary and High Court and Magistrates Court Litigation.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Word programs (more specifically MS Word and Excel).
• Knowledge of the Caselines system is beneficial.
• Dictaphone and copy-typing a wide range of documents.
• Typing, formatting, and collating of notices and pleadings.
• Preparing counsel and client files.
• Strong administration and organisational skills in order to manage professionals' practices (diary management, answering telephone calls and tracking messages in the absence of the professionals).

• Liaise with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts, and other service providers.

• Posting receipts of trust account

• Petty cash

• Preparation of bad debt write-offs
• Loan Accounts
• Preparation of efts- trust and business for approval by Financial manager
