To all our clients:

It is with great excitement that I announce that I will be joining Joubert Galpin Searle, one of the oldest and largest law firms in the Eastern Cape, effective from 3 January 2022. My team, consisting of Legal secretary and Candidate Attorney will be joining me.

Since the start of Boyens Attorneys in 2016, we have grown to such an extent that we now require a more comprehensive and professional support structure and team in order to meet all the requirements of our growing client base. Joubert Galpin Searle offers a larger network and advanced information technology and by having this structure and support, we are able to provide you with even more value and efficient legal service and advice.

Labour and Employment law will remain my main area of expertise and specialised field. I am therefore eager to join the highly experienced Labour Law department of Joubert Galpin Searle, comprising of Rowan Willcock and Leon van Staden.

I will still be your primary attorney and will continue to deal and communicate with you directly. My team and I will also be in contact with you in respect of any arrangements and or discussions to the extent required.

I will be based at Joubert Galpin Searle, located at 173 Cape Road, Mill Park, Port Elizabeth, as from 1 December 2021 as we transition into our new home, but will officially be joining as members of the Joubert Galpin Searle family from 3 January 2022.

Joubert Galpin Searle is excited to announce that Marco Boyens will be joining Joubert Galpin Searle on 3 January 2022 as a Director in our Labour Division.

Marco is currently the owner of Boyens Attorneys and specialises in the field of labour law.

Marco has comprehensive experience in all areas of employment law and employment litigation. He is particularly recognised for his experience in review applications (arbitration awards) and resolving contentious and non-contentious employment matters in an accurate, swift and cost-effective manner. Marco has a Master’s Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law from Nelson Mandela University.

He focuses on Employment litigation (Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court, CCMA & various Bargaining Councils), advice on all aspects of employment relations, chairing of disciplinary enquiries, corporate restructuring & retrenchments, drafting of employment contracts & policy documentation, employment law compliance audits, restraint of trade disputes and commercial employment transactions.

REMOTE DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS DURING LOCK-DOWN

It has been held by our Labour Courts that disciplinary hearings can be conducted remotely. However, such disciplinary hearing should still comply with the necessary requirements to be considered procedurally fair.
Our attorneys are set up to assist with the chairing of such disciplinary hearings and to ensure that these proceedings are conducted in a procedurally fair manner.
