I have more than 40 years of experience and would love to create your most beautiful dress for your Wedding day. I also love dressing up the little ones and also custom make Ring Pillows and Garters in the colours you want. I started my career at CAPAB as an apprentice costumier under the guidance of my mentor Doreen Brown. I loved my work and after Doreen left the company I took over as Costume M

aker. I made my first wedding dress at the age of 19 and was hooked by the magic world of Weddings. Working at CAPAB was like being in a place where everything was possible and if you cannot find something you make it. I used to work with the best designers in the business like Neels Hansen, Peter Cazalet, Penny Simpson, Dicky Longhurst, Bruno Santini, Johan Engels, Raymond Schoop and many other. I was so grateful for getting the opportunity to work with such talented people and my love for beautiful fabrics blossomed into creating beautiful wedding dresses and evening wear. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a piece of fabric transformed into a beautiful dress. So many times girls come to me with a tiny picture of their dream dress or even different pictures and together we will discuss how to best put her ideas into practice. One of my most challenging wedding dresses was for my sister-in-law’s wedding, way back in 1987. As I could not travel due to being very pregnant and living in the Free State while she was living in Paarl, all het measurements and ideas was posted to me and I got my friend to source the fabric in Johannesburg. She saw and fitted her dress for the first time one week before her wedding and it was perfect! I would love to create a little bit of magic for you on your Wedding day!
