On today's roll we see the former president Mr Jacob Zuma back in court, however, roles are reversed today as Mr Zuma is the aggrieved party in this instance as he proceeds with private prosecution matter.
Private Prosecution is provided for in terms of section 7 of the Criminal Procedure Act which states that an aggrieved individual may privately prosecute on the basis of a certificate nolle prosequi (which simply means "to be unwilling to pursue") from the NPA.

The High Court in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, will on Monday hear the private prosecution matter that former president Jacob Zuma filed against Advocate Billy Downer and News24 journalist Karyn Maughan.
