“All lawyers are liars” a misconception that needs to stop

People love to say “all lawyers are liars.”
It sounds catchy, emotional, and self-righteous but it’s also false and unfair.

Let’s set this straight.

A lawyer’s duty is not to lie.
A lawyer’s duty is to defend, interpret, and apply the law even when the truth is complicated. When someone is accused of a crime, the lawyer’s job is not to “make the guilty look innocent.”
The lawyer’s job is to ensure the law is fairly applied. To make sure the police followed due process, that evidence wasn’t fabricated, that rights weren’t violated. That’s not lying that’s justice at work.

Lawyers don’t create the facts they challenge them.
We test every story, every document, every witness because in law, what you think happened doesn’t matter until it can be proven. That’s not dishonesty that’s discipline.

Sometimes, people confuse advocacy with deception.
🥢 When your lawyer argues in your favor, they are not saying you’re a saint; they’re saying the law must treat you fairly.

🥢 If your doctor treats a murderer’s wound, do you call the doctor evil?

🥢 If a priest prays for a thief, do you call the priest corrupt?
Then why call a lawyer a liar for doing their duty to the law?

The real problem is that many people expect lawyers to say only what they want to hear not what is legally right and when the truth of the law doesn’t favor them, they cry, “Lawyers twist words.” But the same “twisting” saves the innocent every day.

A good lawyer doesn’t lie; a good lawyer protects your truth within the boundaries of law.
We don’t make facts we examine them.
We don’t decide guilt we test it.
We don’t choose sides for fun we represent rights so that justice never becomes oppression.

So the next time someone says “lawyers are liars,” remind them
🥢 It was a lawyer who drafts the laws that keep you safe.
🥢 A lawyer who ensures your property can’t be taken from you.
🥢 A lawyer who defends the voiceless when society turns its back.
🥢 And a lawyer who stands beside you when no one else will.

Lawyers are not liars.
We are guardians of fairness even when truth is uncomfortable.

A Court Judgment is only Powerful if you Enforce it

Many people think that once the judge bangs the gavel in their favor, the battle is over but in reality, winning in court is only half of justice.

The other half is enforcement because until you enforce a judgment, it remains a victory on paper, not in practice.A court judgment is the declaration of your right.Enforcement is the exercise of that right.

🥢 If you win a land case and the other party refuses to vacate, the court won’t automatically send the police.

🥢 You must apply for a writ of possession a court order authorizing enforcement officers to recover that property for you.

🥢 If someone owes you money and you win the case, the court won’t chase them down to pay. You may need to file for a garnishee order, allowing you to recover your money directly from their bank account or debtor.

🥢 If it’s a judgment for specific performance or delivery of goods, you might need a writ of ex*****on or attachment, depending on the nature of the judgment.

The truth is, a judgment unenforced is justice delayed by choice. The law doesn’t reward silence after victory; it rewards follow-up. Many people lose the benefit of their cases because they walk away after hearing “judgment in your favor,” forgetting that courts don’t automatically implement their decisions they authorize you to.

Enforcement is how you turn a judgment into action. It’s the difference between being right and receiving what’s rightfully yours.

So, when next you win in court, don’t stop at celebration. Take the next legal step because in law, justice is not complete until it is enforced.
