We're so proud to have worked with the Thomson Reuters Foundation to produce this three-part toolkit on AI Governance in Africa!

We hope this material supports the efforts of CSOs, researchers, policymakers, and other practitioners around the continent to develop policies that ensure ethical, responsible approaches to AI in Africa.

Generative AI is poised to transform our future. But how can we maximise its immense opportunities, whilst ensuring that equity and human rights are protected? ๐Ÿค–

With support from the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation and produced by expert lawyers at ALT Advisory, our new toolkit unpacks AI governance in Africa to help drive forward ethical and responsible AI in the region.

[Publication / ] We are proud to have partnered with the Lowenstein Clinic at Yale Law School for this new report on the causes, and possible solutions, to online ethnic hate speech in Kenya.

The research, which draws on interviews with more than 30 local stakeholders, identifies the need for Kenyan policymakers to align domestic laws with international standards -- and for social media giants to deliver faster, more transparent content moderation, which includes local staff.

As societies across the world grapple with the rise of online hate, Kenya has the opportunity to set a global standard for a localised, rights-based response.
