⚠️ Important Subsidy Update

The current NHFC application window for First Home Finance has now closed as of 5 October 2026 at 17:00.

No new First Home Finance applications can currently be submitted through NHFC. Incomplete applications will need to be resubmitted during the next NHFC application window once announced.

Existing NHFC preapproval and disbursement functions remain available after closure.

Please note, this does not mean that all subsidy programs are closed.

✅ First Home Finance through qualifying Western Cape Government projects remains open
❌ Individual Subsidy Program in the Western Cape remains on hold for new applications
✅ Military Veterans Program remains open through the Western Cape Government

If you are unsure which program applies to you, speak to the Subsidy ME team and we’ll guide you through the available options.

⚠️ Important Subsidy Update

We have been informed that the Western Cape Individual Subsidy Programme has been placed on hold until further notice.

Existing applications already captured in the system will continue to be processed and honoured, but no new Individual Subsidy applications will be accepted for the time being.

Please note, this applies specifically to the Individual Subsidy Programme and does not mean that all housing subsidy programmes have stopped.

First Home Finance remains a separate option for qualifying first time buyers earning between R3,501 and R22,000 per household per month.

We will keep clients and partners updated as soon as any further confirmation is received.
