We visited the premises of our client today that is being rented from the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. To say that we were disappointed in the living conditions is an understatement.

Our clients informed us that the Municipality delivered a "skip" during March 2023, but have never attended to the collection of any waste being dumped. Over and above, the clients have been exposed to raw sewerage flowing right next to their homes causing extremely bad smells and attracting all kinds of vermin and other possible diseases.

In addition to the above health hazards, our clients also directed our attention to a substation that has been vandalised in the heart of the community exposing live electricity cables where minor children are playing.

We have received instructions to urgently address our concerns to the Municipality and should immediate steps not be taken, we will approach the High Court in Tshwane to come to the aid of the community in Tshwane.

It is extremely sad to witness that people are exposed to conditions of this nature when a Municipality claims to be fulfilling all Constitutional obligations. There seems to be no regard to Human Rights.
