Your home is more than a property. Make sure your wishes are protected.
September is a good reminder to review something many homeowners put off: your Will and estate planning.
For homeowners, your property may be one of your most significant assets. Having a valid Will can help ensure that your wishes are clearly recorded and that your loved ones know what should happen to your estate.
It is also worth reviewing your Will when circumstances change — such as buying or selling property, getting married, having children, or experiencing changes to your financial affairs.
A simple September checklist:
✔️ Do you have a valid Will?
✔️ Does it still reflect your wishes?
✔️ Have your circumstances changed since it was drafted?
✔️ Are your important documents organised and accessible?
✔️ Have you considered what should happen to your property and other assets?
National Wills Week takes place from 14–18 September 2026, with participating legal practitioners providing assistance with basic Will drafting.
