🏠 ADVANCED PROGRAMME IN MEDIATION: LANDLORD & TENANT DISPUTES

Landlord and tenant disputes are about far more than unpaid rent. They sit at the intersection of contract, property rights, housing security, eviction law, constitutional rights and very real human and financial pressures.

This 10-week online specialist programme, commencing Monday, 28 September 2026, equips mediators and legal professionals with both the substantive legal knowledge and practical mediation skills needed to navigate landlord and tenant disputes effectively.

Over 10 × 2-hour online lectures, we will explore South African landlord and tenant law, the Rental Housing Act and Rental Housing Tribunal, breach and cancellation, eviction and unlawful occupation, rental and deposit disputes, and the practical process of mediating landlord and tenant matters from intake through to settlement.

The programme includes:

• Case studies and simulated disputes
• Written assignment assessments
• Case study assignments
• Specialist focus on negotiated and mediated solutions

But history reminds us that meaningful change rarely happens overnight. It is built slowly - through courage, accountability, empathy, and people who continue to believe that a better world is possible.

ADR Network SA is delighted to invite you to join our new Advanced Programme in Mediation and Restorative Justice in Animal Rights, commencing on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.

This six-week programme explores how restorative justice can help us move beyond a narrow animal welfare framework towards a richer and more expansive animal rights jurisprudence in South Africa.

Together, we will examine how mediation, restorative justice and conflict transformation can contribute to repairing relationships between human beings, animals, communities and the wider ecosystem.

Drawing on philosophy, law and practical mediation skills, participants will gain tools for navigating disputes involving animals with wisdom, compassion and creativity, while exploring what it means to cultivate a more reverent and relational approach to all living beings.
