These are unprecedented times and Employers may soon very well be faced with allegations of employees being participants of looting and or riot-related incidents.

Employees can be suspended with immediate effect pending the outcome of a criminal case and an independent investigation into the charges that have been brought to the employee. On receiving all the facts the Employer can take disciplinary action as required.

Criminal activity, even if outside the workplace, can and in most instances WILL affect the employment relationship especially since the Employer has a direct interest in the country as a whole.

Expert legal advice and guidance is strongly advised.

Having regard to the challenges and struggles faced and the triumphant community that stands to rebuild our cities, homes and businesses, Omashni Leeladhar Attorneys offers a free consultation to matters specific to the aforementioned.
