Compliments of the new year to all our clients. Thank you for supporting us all these years...and please keep on supporting us. Thought I should introduce our new member of the office. His name is Njabulo Zungu...he comes with a lot of experience in tax law, Municipal law and motor vehicle accident claim law. As you can see the office is growing and our client base is expanding rapidly. Maybe it's time to relocate to bigger premises. At the moment the office is dealing with two big cases involving millions of rands: being Medical aid fraud and tax fraud occasioned by underdeclaring of gross income accrued during the years of assessment. During last December we had successes in urgent application we lodged to stop eviction of over 300 families. We also won a case where the employer sought to declare our client unfit to possess a firearm.

"It is in the best interest of the child"...this is term that is now regularly abused (mostly by women) when they seek to shut out the father of the minor child from enjoying the visitation rights in respect of that child. They will either seek to deny him visitation right outright or pray that he be granted only supervised visitation rights. And in most cases the child is used as a pawn in the fight of adults who for some reason went their different ways. To get the required order the poor man will be labelled "a drug addict, an abuser, irresponsible etc" These are kind matters that I am dealing with this week..the family law matters. CIlient of mine is a Respondent in one of these matters. I am defending him against an application that his visitation rights been downgraded fro unhindered visitation right to narrowly circumscribed supervised visitation. Another interesting matter involved a municipality client of mine which has given me instructions to sue a contractor who exacted one of its roads and laid sewerage pipes underneath. The contractor is now refusing to rehabilitate the road to it's pre-excavation state. Presently I am drafting summons to sue for specific performance to force the contractor to rehabilitate road. Before I leave the page May I appeal to all men to respect women and children...they are human beings too..they feel the pain like us...stop abusing them...stop assaulting them.. stop ra**ng them. 16 days of activism against women and children ends today but this does not mean that you forget what was preached in the last 15 days...the desist plea should endure beyond this day...in fact it should endure forever.

Nearing the end of the year now but sadly for us there are no holidays. We need to service clients make follow ups on our client's files so that we can give proper feedbacks to clients. For the past weeks we have been attending to an assortment of interesting matters. We have are defending eviction application against 46 members of SAPU who are occupying state subsidised accommodation at Natalia building in Durban. This matter is consuming a lot of our time. Yesterday I was in Newlands East police station attending an enquiry in terms of section 102(2) to declare client unfit to possess a firearm. On Thursday I attended a meeting with the Bargaining Council arbitrator (Transient Bargaining Council) in an attempt to reconstruct the arbitration record as ordered by JP of the Labour Court as the matter is already in the Labour Court for review purposes. We are also fighting RAF Pension Fund which is refusing to release pension money to nominated beneficiaries. We are also in the process of resolving our client's dispute with the Department of Education which is refusing to upgrade our client"salary to P4. Other members of my office have been engaged with criminal matters in the foĺlowing court: Newlands Court, Durban, Umbumbulu and SCCU.

Heavy rains today but my clients are Kings...I have to service them regardless of adverse conditions...I am excited today because the court yesterday delivered a judgment in our favour against Min of Police....the Min. was ordered to pay R300,000,00 plus interest at 15,5% from Feb 2013 to date of final payment plus costs. Today I will be in the High Court for application to remove a restrictive condition in our clients title deed. Tomorrow I will be catching up with chamber and will be setting down three divorce matters. Will also consult police client facing corruption charges next week at Commercial Court. Also received a call from attorneys representing FNB for settlement discussions...we are suing FNB for R590,000,00.

Been neglecting to update the page...sorry to our followers and clients. All attorneys and candidate attorneys in our office have been busy trying to finalise their matters as we are nearing the festive season. We seem to be inundated with family law matters especially divorce and maintenance issues. In the past three weeks we have secured no less than six acquittals and finalised four divorce matters. We have also helped SASCO to win UKZN SRC elections (Howard College). We took the decision to disqualify them from participating in the elections to the court and we won. I am presently busy with an unfair dismissal matter in the Bargaining Council. We are representing a former Acting Chief Financial Officer who worked for a municipality in Zululand. I am also assisting a Transnet Engineering employee who was also fairly dismissed. The matter is pending in the Labour Court.

And lastly may I assure everyone that my associate and good friend Mxolisi Nxasana is fine and ready to dedicate all his time in the advancement of our office now that his personal legal issues are over.

May I start by congratulating my candidate attorney Miss Mkwanazi who did the assault trial all by herself from start to finish and got an acquittal. I think I have taught her well. The past two days have been busy for me as well. Yesterday I got an order of divorce in the divorce court and today I helped out an elderly lady with spoliation against Ethekwini Municipality for the return of water that was rudely terminated by the municipality. Tomorrow I will be in Port Shepstone for trial as my client is charged with reckless and negligent driving.
