Trauma to Triumph felt deeply personal to me. It was comforting to realise that Karen Botha and I have reached so many of the same conclusions, and followed similar thought processes, even though our stories are not the same.

Healing can feel lonely. This book reminded me that it does not have to be.

I recognised so much of my own journey in her words, the need to understand what happened, how it shaped us, and how we can choose to move forward without allowing the past to define us.

There is a real sense of unity in discovering that someone else has asked similar questions and arrived at an understanding of healing that is so closely aligned with my own.

The book is honest, practical and hopeful. It does not pretend that healing is easy, but it shows that change is possible, and that we are more connected through our pain, courage and growth than we sometimes realise.

I finished the book feeling united with and supported by its message. It affirmed much of what I have come to understand about healing through my own journey, and reminded me that although our journeys are personal, we are not alone in what we learn along the way.

Highly recommended for any survivor seeking peace and healing.

Psychological safety is not about removing accountability.
It is about removing fear.

Because when people feel safe, they contribute.
When they contribute, they connect.
When they connect, they grow.

And when people bring their full voices to the table, transformation becomes possible.

Tomorrow in The Dignity Compass.

What happens when we stop seeing communication as a skill and begin seeing it as a bridge between human beings?

And what if the quality of our relationships depends less on what we say and more on how safely others experience us?

Today I'm incredibly grateful to see Trauma to Triumph featured by IOL.

Writing this book was never about telling my story. It was about helping others understand how our experiences shape the way we lead, communicate, connect and navigate conflict—and showing that healing and transformation are possible.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey. I hope the article inspires someone to believe that it's never too late to begin again.

The most dangerous workplace is not always the one filled with conflict.

Sometimes it is the one filled with silence.

No questions. No challenge. No feedback. No difficult conversations.

Silence may look peaceful. But beneath it may sit fear, exhaustion and disengagement waiting to surface.

Fear narrows our focus.

It reduces creativity. It discourages experimentation. It makes us choose safety over contribution.

Organisations sometimes ask why employees are disengaged.

A better question may be: What are employees trying to protect themselves from?
