We are delighted to share the news that Heike Hartnick has graduated with her Master of Laws in Mercantile and Comparative Labour Law from the University of the Western Cape.

Her thesis, titled β€œDismissals for Misconduct Conducted Outside the Employer’s Premises, Particularly With Reference To Misconduct That Takes Place On Social Media,” confronts the current challenge of how off-duty conduct, particularly on social media, can impact employment relationships. Her research offers valuable legal insights into a rapidly evolving area of labour law.

We are excited to introduce SalomΓ© Hamman , our Associate in the corporate, commercial, and litigation departments based at BDP Attorneys Rondebosch. With an LLB degree from North-West University and completion of the School for Legal Practice in Cape Town, she was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2023. Since joining us in January 2024, SalomΓ© has been assisting Anton Schelhase, Andrea Keller, and Caleb Jones with various legal matters, including commercial litigation, property transactions, evictions, and labour law litigation.
